The right time
Indicating the time is an essential function of a
clock. This function is made visible using clock faces and numbering on all sorts of buildings including church
towers, town halls, banks, stations, schools and sport complexes. Eijsbouts has acquired a wide reputation as a manufacturer of tower
clocks. For the Amercentral in Geertruidenberg, we manufactured the largest clock face in the world with a cross section of 10
metres. Different designs of hands and numbering are made from high quality materials such as
copper, aluminium and stainless steel. The hands and digits are also gilded with extra heavy and extremely durable gold
leaf.
Global time signal
Nowadays, as a result of the introduction of the electronic quartz-driven central clock with radio
synchronisation, clocks have reached a high degree of accuracy. Most public clocks and the clocks linked to them are driven by radio signals from a central time
transmitter. The electronic central clock transmits impulses to the drive mechanism of the exterior
clock. The switch from summer to winter time and vice versa is automatic and an electronic circuit ensures that minutes or hours lost in the event of a power cut are caught up by means of
acceleration. Eijsbouts offers a varied range of clock systems which run according to modern and extremely reliable techniques guaranteeing faultless
operation.
